Fewer names on the screen, one real conversation.

Chatiw is a text chat site with no registration: you choose a nickname, age, gender and country, then message people from an online list. HearMe Chat skips the list. You tap Start and get a random chat with one person, typed or spoken, and the camera is never part of it. The Chatiw details below come from its own pages as archived in September 2025, the most recent copies we could read. Its site refused our requests on 20 October 2026, so some of it may have changed.

What Chatiw is

Chatiw describes itself as free chat rooms with no registration: no email and no confirmation, just a short form and a Start chat now button. After that, its FAQ says, you see people in a list on the left and click one to open a private chat. Text and photo sharing are the features its home page lists, and it pitches itself at singles who want to meet people.

A few rules are specific to it. Your country is set from your connection and cannot be changed, to stop people pretending to be from somewhere else. Links cannot be shared. Its FAQ says your information is deleted a couple of hours after you stop using the site, and that a ban keeps you out for 48 hours unless it was a mistake. To report someone you use the Block button on their profile and follow the steps.

Its archived home page invited people to install a Chatiw app on iPhone, iPad and Android. The Google Play address it linked to returned "not found" when we checked on 20 October 2026.

Where HearMe Chat is different

Chatiw is built around choosing. You see a list of names, ages and countries and decide who to write to, which is quick but tends to send most messages to the same few profiles. HearMe Chat mostly does the choosing for you: one person who is also waiting, nudged by shared interest tags. Its Who's online page works by consent instead of open messaging: you send a Say hi, and a chat opens only if the other person accepts.

Voice is the second difference. On HearMe Chat you can switch from typing to a voice call with a stranger, mic only, no camera prompt anywhere on the site. If you both want to keep going after a call ends, you can reconnect within 60 seconds, and a free account lets you add the person as a friend.

Moderation works differently too. Chatiw relies on blocking links and short bans. HearMe Chat checks every message for under-18 signs before it is sent, stops phone numbers, emails and links in the room, and sends reports to a moderator with the recent messages attached. Bans hold by account, device and network rather than by nickname, so a new name is not a way back in.

In the week of 13 to 19 October 2026 our own database count shows 754 voice calls and 9,633 text chats started on HearMe Chat. That is the whole week, counted once, with nothing added.

Where Chatiw is better

If you know who you want to talk to, a list is faster than a queue. Chatiw lets you write to several people at once and see their country and age before you start. HearMe Chat never shows anyone's country, and a Say hi waits for the other person to accept. Chatiw also lets you share photos, which HearMe Chat's one-to-one chat does not.

Chatiw has also been around far longer: its pages carry a copyright line from 2010, and its home page links versions for the UK, France, Spain, Italy and other countries. HearMe Chat has been online since September 2026 and has one room.

How to switch in 30 seconds

  1. Open HearMe Chat in the same browser. Nothing to install.
  2. Pick a nickname, confirm you are 18 or over, and skip the rest if you like: there is no age, gender or country form to fill in.
  3. Choose Text to type or Voice to talk, and tap Start.
  4. Tap Next whenever you want someone new. Report and Block are in every chat.

Frequently asked questions

Is Chatiw safe?

Chatiw's safety tips ask you not to click links, share phone numbers or send money, and its site blocks links and bans rule-breakers for 48 hours. Like any open chat site, what keeps you safe is what you do not share. On HearMe Chat every message is also checked for under-18 signs and every chat has Report.

Is there a Chatiw app?

Chatiw's archived home page linked an Android app, but that Google Play page returned "not found" on 20 October 2026. HearMe Chat needs no app: it runs in any phone or desktop browser.

Is Chatiw down?

Chatiw's own FAQ says to follow its Facebook page for site status. We cannot check it for you. If you want to talk to someone while you wait, HearMe Chat works with no account.

Can I choose who to talk to on HearMe Chat like on Chatiw?

Partly. Most chats come from the match, steered by interest tags, and Premium adds a country preference. On the Who's online page you can send a Say hi to someone, and the chat opens if they accept.

Does HearMe Chat delete my chats?

The one-to-one chat log is kept for 24 hours so a report can be reviewed, then deleted. Messages in the General room are kept for 7 days.
