Child safety standards

Adults only

Everyone confirms they are 18 or older before their first chat, and the Android app is listed for adults only. Our software flags messages where someone says they are under 18, and anyone who is under 18 is removed.

What is never allowed

Any content that sexualises a minor, grooming, trying to contact or meet a minor, sharing or asking for child sexual abuse material (CSAM), and sextortion. There is no video on HearMe.

How to report

Tap Report in any chat, call, request, room, bottle or profile and choose "Underage" or the reason that fits. A report made during a voice call sends the last 60 seconds of the other person's audio to our team. You can also write to our Child Safety Officer directly.

What we do

A person on our team reviews child-safety reports first. We permanently ban the account, device and network involved, and these bans cannot be appealed. We preserve the evidence, report child sexual abuse material to the appropriate authorities and child-protection organisations as the law requires, and cooperate with law enforcement.
